After years of watching horses being ridden alongside the Tour de France, today the Tour of Britain came near to us.

Brilliant! That is one helluva horse, what is he?

We had the Tour de France come through Kent a few years ago but it was so heavily marshalled there was no chance of getting a horse near it.

In fact it was so heavily marshalled it nearly cost the life of friends horse as she was out when he trod on a wire with punctured his frog, they wouldn't let either trailer or vet through and she had to walk him along back routes to reach home. Six weeks of horsepital and an £8k bill later... he was lucky to have survived. So I now view bike races with very mixed feelings.

He is utterly fabulous - almost as beautiful as my Draft horse:wink4:.

But I'm with LadyinRed about bikers and racing. We bought a Clyde mare and hacked her home, about 1/2 mile from her previous home on a wide downhill 'A' road about 40 cyclists passed us all whooping and hollering as they did so - idiots could have caused a serious accident - fortunately the bombproof mare lived up to her reputation and never batted an eyelid.
