Hello,

I need some help from showing experts. To cut a long story short, i showjump , but have recently required a nice little New forest pony as a companion for my horses as the current companion is getting on a bit now. I have decided to have a bit of fun and think it would be nice for the pony to have a job, so thought when im at some of the county shows as he is going to be keeping the young horses company on the lorry he may as well come off and do some showing since he is there, just thinking mountain and moorland type classes (in hand) So the question is, what do i wear? i have done a few in hand bits with the babies previously and it has just been about getting them out there for experience , but thought it was time to get it right with the dress code, as im quite competitive and do not want to loose marks for the wrong turn out, im 24 if that makes any difference.

All advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not a showing expert by any means, but for in hand i always say (guys and girls):

- yard/ jod boots (pref brown)
- cream trousers
- white shirt
- tie
- hacking jacket
- brown show cane
- brown leather gloves
- hat - I always hear a riding hat, done up, but I think men doing M and M's usually wear a flat tweed hat, or a bowler if you want to be posh!

Why not look in the H and H pages, there are always men showing in hand M and M's there.

This is what my dad wears when showing inhand.
