I need a little help! I like to think im good at designing and drawing, but i can't for the life of me design dressage or jumping courses.
i have a plan to try and calm ned when i jump him, which is to build a course of jumps, but do a dressage test around the jumps until hes calm, then pop a jump every now and then and when he settles completely, do the whole course.

anyone fancy helping me design a walk/trot/rein back(maybe) dressage test, with 5/6 jumps? Bare in mind the dressage course has to go around the jumps (meaning missing them out)

thanks!!

A bit boring, but one at A and C in off the track, then B and E in off the track and one slightly off x across the centre line. Then you have the option of 20 metre, 15 metre and 10 metre circles around the jumps, serpentines around the jumps, changes of rein etc. and you could randomly pop one when he's least expecting it, like leg yield from the quarter line outwards past the jump a few times then ride straight down the quarter line and over once, then back to leg yielding. Or ride straight past the jump at E then the next time round, leg yield into the quarter line from the track and set up for the jump while his mind is on the leg yield. Then his bums under him for taking off as well. And as you land you can leg yield out again as though the jump never happened. Just beware of doing anything too sharply so he thinks he's being turned away and taught to refuse, any pushing away from the line of the jump should be done from a decent distance before he's locked on.

Why not look at the BD WTs / prelims and just slot jumps in where the test doesn't go... Or even shove some jumps up and just perform the moves they allow you to perform around them...

Thanks everyone :) I shall bookmark/save the info :) I actually had no idea there was such a thing! It was just an idea to try and calm him a bit, since he was so good when I last did a walk/trot test on him! He really listened :D Hopefully it'll work!

Thanks again!
