Did our first unaffiliated dressage comp a couple of weeks ago and I know what I wore was acceptable (as in the pic in my sig, but with a new velvet hat), but my jacket is a bit too big (I bought it for hunting and left room for a hefty jumper underneath) so I'm thinking of buying a new one which is more lightweight and fitted.

I ride a 14.2 mw cob with a fair bit of clydesdale in her breeding.

Would I be better with a navy / black jacket or should I stick to tweed?
What colour gloves would be preferable?
What colour jodhs are best?

I have brown tack if it makes a difference.

Thanks

If you're buying a new set - i'd go for blue jacket and some cream/beige jods

I personally prefer black and white, with black gloves. You will look really smart with the horse in your sig...

I agree with TOG, I think black jacket, black gloves and white jods would be the smartest option. I also think that would complement the colour of your horse in your sig...who is lovely btw

Navy is much less harsh (on a lady's complexion

) than black and is more useful in terms of what you can use it for (dressage, SJ and showing), although tweed is more versatile still, especially if you do a lot of showing or BHS or PC exams. I'd go for navy over black - with a cream or white stock and jods and a blue hat or silk.
