I'm taking idiot features to his second dressage competition this weekend...will be fun
...I'll start drugging him up this evening
I'm wanting to place my entries today, however I'm a bit unsure of what classes to enter, obviously it's just about practice, experience and him finding what I ask, easy and enjoyable. I have a choice of the following:-
Intro B
Prelim 7
Prelim 18
Novice 27 - these obvioulsy are not suitable.
Novice 30
Elementary 44
I seem to recall P18 being a nice straightforward test but I have never ridden P7 before, could anyone tell me what is in the test (this is not a hint for copy by the way, I will be purchasing the test sheet this week should I need to) it's just so I can decide today between P7 and P18 and what I think will be better for him, then I can do my entries.
Now last time I did the Intro B to start with, I used this class as a 'tester' to see how he'd re-act without the excitability of cantering, but actually practiced P12 at home, of course exactly the opposite happened, he wasn't too bad in the intro (the one I hadn't even practiced) but then got more excitable and spoiled himself in the P12
So I'm a bit undecided as to which classes to stick him in, is there a huge amount of difference in the canter work between P7 and P18 and the movements? only asking this because his canter work is not up to scratch as yet (willing to do it, its just your typical baby canter that's all), which doesn't matter but I don't want to ask to much of him as he can be a stress head at the best of times and hes quite a sensitive sole.
So I could do Intro B then a prelim...if so which one?
Or go for P7 and P18?
Feed back on P7 and P18 (sheet at home) will obviously help me decided.
Thank you
