Dressage boffs, the canter pirouette debate 3 or 4 beat.

any riders o judges out there who would like to tell me what the current mode is? I am a 3 beat lass myself, but I know the arguments for 4 beat and just wondered where the debate stands at this particular moment in time?

Currently teaching it to dressage beast - IMHO has to be 3 beat because otherwise it's not canter (in a nutshell!)

agree with spacefaer- canter is a 3 beat pace therefore a canter pirouette should be 3 beat.

Can't really ride one, let alone judge one but IMO it's 3 beat, but the hooves touch the ground at 4 different times

Can anyone find a video showing a 3 beat one where the diagonal pair touch the ground together? Reckon Blue Hors Matine, can't find many others...
