The vet has just come to check our horse and said he can compete on Tuesday and Sunday.
He was badly cut 3 weeks ago and it looked like he would have to miss it .He has been on box rest for 2 weeks then light exercise twice a day but still stabled for the past week with a pad ,softwrap and vetrap on the leg.We have a letter to say he is fit to compete with a bandage for protection which BD accept .

Off to Solihull Tuesday and Sunday but have missed a lot of schooling and practice but at least we can do our best

This is great news, I am sure you guys will be fine, when is the competition? I would take it quite slowly though you don't want to put him back at all.

Spillers prelim comb training and riding club team ,only reg. in November he is just 5.Not had any chance to practice the jumping as don't want to put pressure on leg although vet says it will be ok.Just going to enjoy being there and keep fingers crossed that they like him [he qualified with 76.5%] and he likes the jumps[ never jumped outside on grass before]

Will you be there from Tues through to Sunday then?? I am going on Thurs and will be there until Sat afternoon. I had a bit of a scare too... my boy had his flue and tet but also herpes and he had a reaction to it when I rode him.. he went very very dopy and I thought thats it.

.I was suppose to have a trial run on Sunday at patchetts but cancelled as I thought it was best... so to make you feel better I have not had much practice either!

Just enjoy your day and I hopefully will see you there!! I must admit I am a wee bit nervous ... but I am telling myself to enjoy it... gulp!!!

I only live 30 minutes down the road so don't have to stay.Not heard of herpes jab. We had planned to really work on his jumping as we also entered the larger class when we qualified and it was too much as the double had a spread out and it really upset him .Then our lorry failed the plate and we couldn't get anywhere then we just did two small classes and this happened ,so really worried he will have trouble with the jumping especially as he has never jumped on grass.
So just going to enjoy being there.You know what it is like when they have had an injury you just don't ask as much in case it hurts.
How can I recognise you
 
Oh what a bummer... never mind... he is only 5 and you will have plenty more years at the Nationals!!!!

and no its not a wig... just a phase I am going through!! My horse is a big black beasty and my hubby is a big bodybuilder!! My motto is "never judge the book by the cover"!!!

Here is to a good Nationals.... do your best but expect nothing then anything you get is a bonus.. that is what my hubby says about anything in life...you know what... I think he actually has a point!!!

I am there on the Weds. We've decided to do it in a day as our class doesn't start until 2.45pm. Mind you, I don't think I'll be much good for anything for a day or so afterwards as it is a 4hr drive, one way!
