Hi I have been really struggling to find a pair of long boots that will fit my legs without paying an absolute fortune getting some made! I have looked at some gaiters and chaps and was wondering what peoples thoughts were on wearing half chaps for dressage? I was considering the Tredstep Deluxe ones which are very smart and I think look much better than boots on me as they actually fit! But I realise this is somewhat controversial having the zip down the site . . if the zip if discrete and not immediately obvious would this be acceptable? I have a youngster that I'm just starting to take out so we're at pretty low level at the moment but I want something that will last.
My boy is cremello too so I would want them to be brown with a navy jacket, as black looks way too harsh against his colouring! I think this would look smartest with him but am not sure if it would be frowned upon? I can't find anything specifically in BD rules which would imply it would be unacceptable but realise most people wear black jacket and long boots :/.
(These are the chaps I was looking at! https://www.throstlenestsaddlery.co.uk/tredstep-deluxe-half-chap-6092.html )
Thanks
