i always take 20" from the standard girth size. Dan is a 54" GP girth and takes a 34" dressage! Fleur takes a 46" Gp and takes a 26" dressage although she does have a 30" on more commonly (as Dan just squidges in a 32" and saves changing girths ha ha) although it is a bit too near the saddle on each side if being pedantic

Treeless and dressage may require different length girth

For instance my horse is:
GP 52"
Dressage 26/28"
Treeless 32/34"

I wondered if treeless needed a longer girth, normal girth is 46, and short girth is 28. I got a long one though so that it is as close to the saddle as possible.

Yep, longer for me too
I hate seeing the buckles banging on the elbows , if you know what I mean

Do different makes dressage saddles come with shorter/longer girth straps then?
I ask as I do not have a clue !!!
