We are currently having many issues with our current girth which is an 18" thorowgood. To put in perspective pony is 13.2hh and not a cob but not show pony light either, usually quite tough.
However her girth has rubbed her on both sides just where the girth widens to the buckles, on her it's just behind the elbow. She also has quite a forward gir groove. Although the girth Is a little big, I have yet to find a dressage girth smaller than that which is not the god awful cottage craft one.

So does anyone have any recommendations on a girth to suit her and stop rubbing and that dosnt costbhundreds of pounds ? A lot of the girths that ive looked at just don't go down to her size.

Thank you for any suggestions

Could you possibly have a saddler alter the straps so the saddle would take an ordinary girth? Just because you re doing dressage doesnt mean to say you HAVE to use a dressage girth! Especially if it would be more comfortable for the pony.
