When doing a 10m loop in trot down the long side, ie between k and h, how should the bend change? ie on the first part of the loop, from k to x, should there be bend towards the track, and then on the second part, from x to h, should the bend be towards the centre line?

any tips with riding this movement greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Bend should be to inside as you come off the track then change to outside bend ie towards the track. This bend is maintaind through out the loop until returning to the track where it should cahnge back to inside bend just before re-joining.
Draw the movement on a piece of paper and look at the curve. bend should always match the curve.

Maybe I've read that wrong but I think you want to have the bend the other way around-ie. the way he is going. For example, when coming off the corner and approaching the centre line, bend towards the centre line, then go straight a bit, then change the bend towards the track. Then obviously, change the bend as you hit the track for the corner. Does that help?

Just to add, teh movement calls for a constant curve. At no point should you be riding a straight line. Only possible exception is on a green horse where a stride or 2 of straight between changes of bend can be useful to aid balance.

Thanks!! Sounds like I was doing it the wrong way around then! I need to ride this is a test next week.
