Who would have thought it was so difficult to find one! Have unsuccesfully tried to find anywhere in Germany with English speaking trainers for a short break (have last week in August booked off work). Portugal is a possiblity but flights are more expensive as in very touristy areas.

So now I'm thinking maybe Yorkshire Riding School or Talland. Anyone been/got any suggestions? Ideally I would like some lunge lessons and lessons on a schoolmaster. I so want to go to Germany but going alone and knowing no Germany whatsoever is a little daunting!

Would you be interested in coming over to Ireland? I've trained with someone in Kildare who's one of the top dressage trainers in Ireland and she really is brilliant!

Yes I know- I've been trying to book something but to no avail!!Ended up booking something in Germany for 2 weeks, its a course for the little bronze medal-don't ask, don't really know!?Course overview looks good, but I would have been happier trying out a shorter course to start with!!
Would be very interested in Kildare trainer-based in Ireland myself!

Can recommend Jane Bartle at YRC. She's brilliant.

The only thing I would suggest is take some ibuprofen - I've just had a few months off riding and had lost my position so got Jane to give me a lunge lesson. Fab lesson. Have got my sitting trot back but couldn't walk properly afterwards!!!

Sidonnel, is that at State Equestrian College? If so, I did look into it but dates clash with my exams

TayloredEquestrian, yes have only heard good things about Yorkshire. That is exactly the kind of thing I was after!

Castlemouse, what is the name of the trainer??

Ooh I want to go to the State Equestrian College, tried to get into the Jan course but they were fully booked

Sidonnel will you let me know what it's like?

The Pincus' as Sheepcote do residential courses; I go there frequently for long weekends. But its bloody hard work, hours without stirrups. It works though!

.

Halfstep, now that's an idea. Hadn't thought of them. And David trained at the SRS, that is EXACTLY the kind of tuition I'm after!

You know what, I think that gives me an idea... I am going to look into doing a UK tour of various yards I've wanted to visit and never got round to, with dressage lessons along the way! I mean, Sheepcote to Talland is about an hour and a half. Yeah, riding road trip! Right, getting on the case...

I would love to do something like this, but would love it even more if myself and a friend went over so we could chat about things

Unfortunately, I don't really have anyone who would be interested

Tell me about it... initially there were 4 or 5 of us interested in doing it and now there just me! Don't rely on anyone hmph. Well, I'm still going to do it regardless.
