Does anybody know any good books or anywhere I could look (or even an explanation on here) that explains the difference a dressage judge is looking for in frame depending on the level they are riding? E.g what is expected at Prelim, Novice etc. Does that make sense?

Just now me and Bodey are working towards Novice my instructor is asking me to work Bodey more up and just want to understand it all a bit more.
Thanks in advance,
Jo

Hi,
Me and my lad have been doing novice dressge all this season, quiet successfully, we won the novice dressage champonships a few weeks ago.
Prelim - the judge wants the horse to move long and low, free movement from the shoulder, with free paces.
Novice- the judge wants the horse in a higher outline, they need to see the horse can move from behind in an uphill movement.but still active from their shoulder and through their back, especially as this is when we introduce medium trot and canter.
Hope this helps
