I had an eventing show on Saturday. My dressage went ok I didn't do anything different then usual in fact I think it was an improvement. But when I got the score it was 70 penalties. I was so upset I've never done that badly in dressage before.

I got a clear in showjumping and cross-country but because of that I stood no chance of getting placed.

Anyone else ever get fed up with dressage?

I can beat that, I once got 90

Pony left arena 3 times & the comment at the bottom of my sheet was "Ooops"!

The only way is up!(or should that be down

But did you enjoy yourself and were you happy with your horse? Thats what matters. Ive had some odd scores over the years. Ive also had some great comments...

Well ridden... he wasnt helping much today was he?

And, this has to be the best...

Id love to take you horse hunting!!!!

To me it sounds like a combined training comp I went to today that is the score after they have taken your dressage score away from the possible total and the remainder is penalties. I got a score of 90 yesterday (120 out of 210) which was bad and this worked out eventing score of 43 which again is not good!
To work out your eventing score equivelent take your score divide it by the total possible score this will give you a percentage. Take that away from 100 and that will give you an eventing score.
Hope this all makes sense.

Were you at SLM? I was there too and got 83 for my dressage which confused me - but I knew it wasn't good! Got my sheet and was mostly 6's and 5's, but didn't understand how they'd scored it.

Yes I was at SLM - was very diassapointed with my dressage which was not very good but for me was not a 43 eventing score (90 SLM score) I was also very fed up with waiting around as had to be doing my dressage at 9.30am and then doing the 1.05 SJ at 4pm. Thought they could have given me better times as the PN dressage did not end till 11.30. Which class did you do - I watched a fair bit so might have seen you.

Did the Intro. My wait wasn't as bad as yours - 11.30 dressage and 2.14 SJ, but I still felt that was quite long. Poor you.

If you saw me you would probably remember - I was on the chestnut mare who jumped 10 foot over every jump and refused at the stile/barrel thingy! Still not sure what got in to her...
