Any recommendations for dressage trainers/instructors that will travel out to Congleton? Currently at novice level unaffiliated, schooling some elementary but would like to start BD this year.
We're no experts, I've done everything alone so far & have a pretty normal little horse :) I'd just like help getting further as I'm not very experienced with more advanced stuff!

Would love someone that takes a more classical approach & more into positive reinforcement/ ignoring bad stuff & repeating rather than trying to force anything as she is a sensitive soul!

There are plenty. I've been having lessons with Katy Ash lately and would definitely recommend. Melanie Mitchell is in Smallwood (I've not used her but friends have and she's judged me). Debbie Jones is popular and does of clinics locally too, I had 2 lessons off her at camp one year but she was too expensive for my budget. Ive had sessions with Lisa Pritchard on her mechanical horse and Elaine Sutcliffe did a lesson and bit fitting with me but they're both based towards Knutsford and will charge petrol. Then there's plenty of lower level coaches too; I've used Donna Smith from Sandbach for years and my riding club does a lot with Jo Glover.
Hopefully that's a few suggestions to start you off.

If you're looking for a classical/positive reinforcement approach, I'd definitely recommend Anna Viberg. I also really like Lisa Pritchard and Carole Miller.

Joy Toomer might suit. She has a mountain of schooling exercises she will send you home with to use when you are by yourself.

Debbie Jones is very expensive, especially for someone who spent most of my lesson on her mobile phone!

I Tried a few when i first moved here and by far the best is Libby williams (or libby shakesby if you know her by her married name) she's got me from prelim to AM in 18 months.

Carole Miller's not teaching for the foreseeable future, but I second Lisa Pritchard.

Kate earthy..qualified and excellent teaching...calm and quiet..I wouldn't recommend Lisa Pritchard but that's personal experience..look on the BD website for instructors..

No, nor me. She is good at basic seat etc but doesn't know as much about dressage as you need if you are looking to improve you and your horse IMHO.
