Having decided that Hattie and me ARE going to do dressage this year, I am having to find a bit that is dressage legal that she likes. Not easy.
So I have narrowed down the mouthpiece, the tranz link. But I have tried the loose ring snaffle version, she was a complete cow, head in the air and taking off knowing I couldn't stop her. So I tried her in the only other tranz link bit my boss had which was the KK continental bit, on the big snaffle ring and she loved it. But obviously its not dressage legal so I was wondering about this bit

Any one used one before? I guess its dressage legal?
I'm going to borrow one from a bit bank before I fork out £60 odd for it.

I use this bit too and it is dressage legal, my horse has a mouth or more tongue issue and he likes the baucher bit best as the bit is held stiller in his mouth. Ive used other bauchers and to be honest riding wise I cant tell the difference between the NS or the cheaper ones so Id try to borrow any baucher first before buying a NS just to see if your horse likes it. It definately didnt make my horse go any better, he was just quieter in his mouth.

It is legal, & I would really recommend! Im not sure about your mare, but I ride a lot of Irish cobs (I work for an irish horse dealer) & they usually go very nicely in this bit. Stereotypically they are fantastic for horses that have a tendency to lean or be downhill (as I often find these chunky irish fellows to be!)

Just don't do what i did at the rc dressage champs on friday - forget to change my bit - so was in a Waterford!!! Yep you guessed it got elimiated! And we would have been 4th with our best score ever of 71.2%!! Oh well i was really happy with the score - pitty i don't have the rosette to show for it!
All very embarrassing!!

Brilliant thanks all.

Jemayni- she does lean and is a bit downhill, like you said its their breed. I will definitely try one of these then.
