Hello all!

Well today I had my first go at proper dressage!! Unfortunately got off to a bad start because when we arrived at the stables, the pony I was supposed to be riding was lame!!

So, the only horse they had left was a 14.2hh mare who I'd never ridden before!!! (horse I was supposed to be riding is around 13hh and a gelding :p ) who we got plaited and scrubbed up in record time!

Hopped on, warmed up, thank god there was a bit of a delay!!! Luckily I got my friend to read out my test as I was doing it as I was a bundle of nerves! :p It may have only been a Prelim test, but I was still worried, especially seeing as including me there were only around 4 junior riders, the rest were adults! :)

So, trotted up, introduced myself and waited for the bell, and started the test. All was well, except for when she put up a bit of an argument about the first canter, flick with the whip and she was fine!

Then, onto the second Prelim test. This one there were around 3 junior riders including me, one of which was a friend who was the real competition!! This test went very well, though I nearly crashed into one of the boards cos of a hover fly that was nearby!

So, was very very very chuffed with myself - I hadn't made a fool of myself, I looked smart, and I'd done very well seeing as I'd never ridden her before.. then came the results..

So, the first prelim I did, they divided up the results into Juniors and Seniors, just because there were quite a few juniors.

So, out of the juniors..

I CAME FIRST!!!!! And overall in that class, 5th!!!!! :) So was MAHOOSIVELY pleased with that! My score was 65.70% so, hey ho, it's still good as my first proper test and on a horse I didn't know, if I say so myself! :p

Then the second test they didn't divide up because there were very few juniors, and I came THIRD!!!! :) With, 68.50%!!

So, anyway, very self indulgent post, but am so so happy!!!! But, I know have to finish off the series on the ginger mare, which is a little bit pants as I was hoping I could do it on the gelding, but oh well, turned out to really really like her! :) So, watch this space for the rest of the series!!

Think I might put up a piccy overload of it in PG too!! Anyway, BBQ chicken and a glass of bubbly if you've made it this far through my ramble!! :p xxx
