What size studs do you tend to use for dressage on grass? I’m guessing that the going will be quite deep as I’m on early to mid afternoon at the event

Jensen was incredibly underconfident on grass last year and held his breath all the way through the warm up and the test! Today when we went to practice on grass he was great, I used big pointy studs because I’ve just bought them (so he lost one!!!) There was no thought of slipping at all, just wondering if big pointy ones are overkill and he’d do better with smaller ones?

In mud I would use a mid sized mud stud on the outside of each fore food and a big mud stud on the outside of each hind foot.

We do almost all dressage on grass, as we do driving and I only remember having used the big studs for dressage one time. For dressage I really don't think anything more than small studs is necessary. At least the surface would have to be absolutely horrendous.

Well that's reassuring I'm on the right lines :D I never know the difference between dome and bullet studs - according to the SupaStuds website they all seem to do the same thing, and it is the size that matter....

Yes, same here. I love the supastuds website though, a good choice if a bit baffling for a newbie like me. I use the travel studs which makes it so much easier, have tried a few different filler things and none keep the stud hole clear of stones etc.

Yep I’m definitely going to get some of those too Bernster :) yesterday was the first time I’d used studs for about a year, I’d forgotten what a pain they are!
