I've decided to get a made to measure saddle for my TB mare as having tried a few second hand ones, I can't find any narrow enough or high enough at the wither. I'm having it made by the same person who made one for my older TB, so I know the saddles are good.
My only dilemma is whether to go for a dressage saddle or a VSD. My other one for the other horse is a dressage one and I love it to bits and can quite happily jump in it if I want to (I only ever jump up to about 2ft and that's with my eyes closed, LOL). Now I want to do dressage with this mare when she comes back into proper work, and I can't see myself wanting to do jumping, but who knows? Does anyone have a VSD saddle and do dressage and jumping in it and has anyone bought a VSD and then regretted it and wished they'd bought a dressage one? Also are there any advantages or disadvantages to having a suede seat/knee rolls? All opinions welcome!

I bought a VSD with very straight cut panels for my TB as I wanted to do mainly flatwork and still feel safe out hacking. I ended up buying a dressage saddle after a couple of years as the VSD seat wasn't deep enough. Several years later we've just started jumping her and the VSD isn't really forward cut enough.

Probably not much help but I wish I'd just bought a dressage saddle rather than the VSD but still prefer it to a GP.

I also have a GFS VSD for my other horse which is more forward cut and fine for jumping but also ended up buying her a dressage saddle too!!
