My friend has got a lovely WB mare that she's currently competing in Novice and Elementary. She's scoring decent marks, got placed in both her classes Myerscough AF last weekend so doing quite well. Judges comments always say something like, obedient mare with good paces and more potential although requires more self carriage.

Basically she needs to sit down more and come up through her shoulders.

Any idea who she could go to for an honest appraisal of her mare, way of going and ability? Any thoughts on Richard Davison or Stephen Clarke to do this, if she could get in touch? PM me if you'd rather.

Anyone else you would recommend - she woud travel if need be although Derbyshire/Lancashire/Cheshire areas would be ideal.

Thanks and glass of wine if you got this far

Both of the above would be quite difficult to and expensive to get a session with.

Ones I could suggest;

Claire Ballantyne at Heart of England EC (GP rider & trainer)
Helen Bradley - Lancs (listed judge and trainer)
Fiona Lace - Lancs (listed judge and trainer)
Joanna Jackson - Lancs (GP rider/trainer)
Angela Crane - Lancs (Int GP rider/trainer)

I think you will struggle to get in with Richard as he is so busy.

Stephen Clarke seems to be willing to take on new clients but again is very busy. (think he may do some clinics at Kingswood).

I organise clinics with Jane Bartle - ex Olympic rider and was also chef d'equipe to the british team, but I am in North Shropshire, and the next one is tomorrow, or the 5th November.

Jane Critchley is based not far from Richard. Whilst not a 'name' as such she is a good rider and also trainer and has previously competed up to inter 1 I think.

PM me if you would like any more details

Look on the BD website and go to regions. You will find there is lots of training and assessments for you to join in .I think you might be in the North West and Elaine is great .
Rafi has always had those comments as well and we have waited to ask him to sit as I worry about young horses being asked to much too young. He is now 7 so we are now asking alot more and Kate Attlee is helping us through the North West group.

Never met the bloke but he's dressagey- Beaver Hall have clinics with Spencer Wilton...?

Beaverhall Equestrian centres near Ashbourne side of Staffordshire.
