Not sure who posted yesterday about an event rider making disbaraging (sp) remarks about her doing dressage but in todays H&H there is a quote from Emma Hindle which might of been some use.
"Dressage comes from war, people charging at each other to stab them, but having the control to do that accurately. It's not about just sitting there trotting around because you are too scared to jump. It's about controlling and enhancing this huge mammal, there's nothing boring about it."

I like that - it's NOT just for wusses! Yes I am mostly too wuss to jump but I love the power and control and harmony of dressage when it's done properly. It's only boring if you don't know how to do it correctly IMO.
I also like your quote in your sig pinkwellies!

Thanks, think I read it off a teatowel

I never realised Winston Churchill was into horses but when I looked him up there are quite a lot of quotes atributed to him.

I read that and thought of that post straight away, I think it is very unfair to say that Dressage people are wosses, I just dont jump any longer as i had a fall a couple of years back and the horse trod on me, I am that main earner in the household with two in DIY and an elderly mother that needs my care should anything happen i have a lot of responsiblities, i have friends who jump my boys for me and i do what i love and thats dressage.

The Winston Churchill quote is also on the dressage at Hickstead site, or it used to be anyway. I think its great

I think most of the top level dressage horses look way scarier to ride than the jumpers!

All that power waiting to burst if you do not know how to control it is way scarier than jumping if you ask me!
