Very cheesy grin as I am so very happy with my little boy Louie! Bought my new boy a month ago, just turned 4, not long been gelded and only backed for 4 months but he has been an absolute star! Decided to bite the bullet and do our first test as I dont really want to start jumping him till he is stronger and hes shown a lot of promise on the flat.

Took him to Aintree EC yesterday for the NDG unaffiliated. Quite nervous as I havent done a dressage test for about 4 years but he warmed up really well.

Went into the test and on the 4th movement the bell rang, apparently we had taken the wrong course!! I had spent 2 whole nights learning that test and had it to a T so I was very confused, quick discussion with judge and she got someone to read for me, started 4th movement again.........and rode exactly what I had already done!!!!!! Finished test and went straight to my other half who had been recording to see what happened, at which point the judge apologised and said she had already taken the error off my test and i hadnt gone wrong!!!!!

You can imagine my relief as I really didnt want that written on my boys first sheet. I was so impressed with Louie he worked really well, still a little unbalanced and needs more strength but we finished on a very respectable 65.91% and came 5TH!!!!!! Am over the moon with him!!! :D:D So I think we may be moving towards a dressage future rather than jumping as I really enjoyed it and I love the precision of it all.

Also a very big thank you to everyone at NDG, judges, stewards, organisers, such a lovely group of people who were really helpful and friendly.

Photos are on www.emerald-fotos.com NDG/Aintree unaffiliated dressage series, Prelim 19 starting from image EF10-T26_P19_0071 if anyone could advise on what shots I should buy, Im afraid a link wont work to their page.

Pinot or Corona on offer for anyone who made it through that!!!!

wow, that would have totally stressed me out if I'd had the bell rung for going wrong and not actually gone wrong... well done for keeping such a cool head!!

I like pic number 81 personally
