Hooray for sunshine – very pleasing weekend.

On Saturday we took baby Sassy to her second dressage competition at Eland Lodge, we entered prelim 1 and prelim 18 – we didn’t realise it was a Ride and Relax regional therefore A LOT there….. anyway she warmed up well and did nice test in prelim 1 still baby moments but happy – we got 67.4% and came third out of 38!! So very happy.
She had a little rest and stood like an angel on the lorry.
Got her out and did little warm up for second test – went over and different arena which had banners down the side which she’s never seen before so very spooky!!! But she then settled and went in and did a nice test, still some places for improvement but overall it felt good – wasn’t sure how we’d fare as more competition in that class and 41 in it – anyway to my surprise we got 69.6% and WON! 1st out of 41 in her second time out and she’s only really been in ‘proper’ work for few months.
We won a little trophy!! I am so proud of her and bought some photos can’t wait for them to come through! I have both tests on video so will try get them uploaded tomorrow.

We then went xc schooling yesterday – she was so good jumped everything babyish at times but just kept popping, just hesitated at water then was jumping in off a step very boldly in no time, had another look at the ditch but again got the hang of it in no time, for her second time seeing xc fences I was over the moon – also have video clips so will try get that up too.

She really is becoming a super little mare and selling her is going to be sad – so if anyone knows of a good home that is looking for a cracking little mare for dressage/eventing not silly money asked PLEASE PM me as I’d prefer her to go to recommended home, but think will have to advertise her soon

Can you let me know her details and how much you want? (ie hieght/age/breeding etc) I might know someone who would be interested.

Well done tho, thats a fantastic result!!

Could you not buy her?

It sounds as though the two of you are doing really well together. That is a fantastic result, especially in her second ever dressage competition. Was it affiliated or unaffiliated (sorry, don't recognise the qualifier as we don't have that up here I don't think). 41 in a class, and you beat them all... you must feel so proud of the two of you!

YEP! if it goes ahead that is..... just pray for no rain this week. We are just doing the mini class as don't want to over face her.... can't wait - are you there?

i wish i could but i just haven't got the time to do two horses properly and Bud seems to be sound and i really want to get him out towards end of season - really tough as she's such a nice girl and i miss having a mare

I'm really pleased that Bud is sound again. Have you ridden him?

I am sure you will find her a fantastic home because from what I have seen she is quite a special young lady.

How is Finn doing?

yes just hacking him out when i have time, it's tough with working full time and trying not to upset OH by being late every night!!
Do hope we find a good home for her, she is quite sweet.

thank you - so far so good with Budsie just trying to find the time to build his fitness up slowly - really the sooner i can sell Sassy the sooner i can concentrate on Bud - he is very relaxed and being quite well behaved not sure how long that will last - thank you for asking
