Went to Oldencraig today for unaff dressage. Shad warmed up really nicely, our first test was P16 and she was really relaxed and did a lovely test although I could have ridden a bit more accurately but I was really pleased with her.

Second test was P17 and she was really tense and spooky

and she struck off on the wrong leg in canter which she never does

but never mind. We went to look at the results and in P16 we got 65%

and came 7th (out of about 20 with the winner on 69.5%) so was really chuffed.

In P17 we got 57.08% but still came 5th. So overall a good day and I'm thrilled with how well she went in the first test!

It's just a shame when she gets tense because it spoils the whole test and she goes beautifully when she relaxes.

Great scores

Can relate with the whole tenseness, mine usually warms up well and as soon as we're next to those white boards, he becomes a tense coiled spring that's ready to explode at the slightest touch of the legs!!

Thanks both of you!

We've been there once before and she found it VERY spooky. Today she was absolutely fine in the warm up and the international arena (which is where we were last time), really chilled. The second test was in the arena by the lake and she felt like a coiled spring and she thought the judges box at E was going to eat her!
