I'm wanting to switch to a brown dressage saddle so I don't have to change bridles over etc for jumping. I've tried a few on him but they're all just far too 'banana shaped' in the tree! I.e. they don't sit on his back at the back at all, just curves away. So does anyone know of any particular makes etc that are good for his shape? I have a Kent and masters jump saddle which fits really well, but I can't find any second hand anywhere ( which it would need to be to afford!). Thanks :)

The native pony saddles are as flat as you'll get. Maybe contact sbloom on here, she's a saddle fitter who specialises in natives and flat backed horses.

Solution saddle? They are quite pricey but I've just bought one and its the best saddle I've ever had. They are lovely people to deal with too. I had mine on two weeks trial before I bought it.

Kent and masters dressage saddle with a cob tree or fairfax or thorowgood t8 if you want leather. The t6 is leather look and the t4 is the obvious synthetic. They all have the same tree as what you have (I presume that is the tree you have if your horse is do flat backed).

Thanks guys I will have a look. Had thought about thorowgood when I was looking for a jumping saddle but completly forgot about their dressage ones! He had a thorowgood gp before and his current dressage is a wintec which both fitted well. I will go have a look at there's :)

Cm2581, all theirs are only In black :( and I've had a look at heather moffet and solution ones, just all waaay out of my price range. Im not really looking to spend over £500! ( for a second hand saddle though). I think we have our saddle fitter coming over to yard some point soon so will see if he has anything :) thankyou
