As above really, I'm after a second hand dressage saddle, ideally with decent sized blocks to give me a secure feel on my sharp spooky warmblood!

I am 5'10" with long legs so my problem is getting something with decent blocks but is also able to accommodate my leg.

I've been looking online but have ended up just getting lost in all the options so I need your suggestions please....

I can't help with models but look for a large but high placed triangular block it will be up above your knee, giving security but allowing room for a long femur.

Ohh, check out what nikkimariet and her sister use as they are both unfairly leggy! Will message them this thread for you :)

Prod duly received!

Me and said sister used to ride in the Bates Innova, which is pretty generous in the leg department, blocks are a decent size. We both suffer from arthritis though and found the seats weren't quite deep enough to provide the support we needed. I also have no butt, and the Innova comes up big, so was swimming in the smallest size at a 17".

We swapped last November to the Equipe Emporio and haven't looked back. My sister is able to ride without her back support now, and my back and hips are better generally (my physio and chiro commented on the difference after just a few weeks) and I can dismount without wanting to cry!

My boy is very sharp too, and can be a bit of a doorknob at times, I feel 100% secure in the Equipe and it puts me in a really good position (they are monoflap btw). It has a narrow twist which I love too. The only other thing I'd point out is that the panels are foam, so non adjustable. They either fit you and horse, or they don't. I use a half pad with mine, as does my sister and we/horses haven't had any problems.

They're not cheap but typically, after buying ours new, a dozen appeared on BD classifieds second hand

Really rate them and would see if a saddler local to you is able to sort you a trial period in one.

love my albion platinum ultima (and more importantly so does my mare!). They have more rectangular shaped thigh blocks, suiting the longer legged rider as they sit infront of your thigh, leaving your knee free at the bottom. Have mine with a narrow twist and it is the best thing ever!!
