Dressage Saddle vs. General Purpose

Can any or all of you advise?!
Which is more advantageous for schooling and when is a good time to start using the dressage?
I have ridden in a dressage saddle many a time before but always on ready-established horses... thus I'm not sure as to when I can introduce this saddle to my youngster.

Not sure how old your horse is but as long as you get a qualified saddler then surely you can start using a dressage saddle as soon as the horse is in ridden work?

I love love my dressage saddle and could never go back to a GP- it has helped my position so much. However I do use my cc xc saddle for jumping and hacking as find it hard to have good canter in the dressage when hacking!
