I have a wow jumping saddle and love it. But have tried every single dressage flap they do and none are suitable. I'd need the flaps shortened by 2" as my legs are short (I am quite short all round!) and this is no problem. But my kees just don't reach the blocks in any of the styles. I can have the flaps angled back, but this would only make them 1" closer and wouldn't really help.

So I'm looking at other saddles. Problem is my horse had back issues and has only been ridden in a wow since. So I'm reluctant to put him in a flocked saddle. I do realise however that a well fitted flocked saddle should cause no problems and I'm just being over cautious.

Finding a saddle however is proving difficult. My horse is a big moving WB and as I've said I'm a short ass so I want something with a nice sized block, but nothing thats going to hold me in the saddle as I like to have the freedom to move!

I don't have the budget for a new saddle, I want a nice second hand for about £50o ish, maybe up to £600. I've been looking at the ideal roella (the jessica is too "big" for me and the roella is made for a more petite rider I've heard) but they are like rocking horse poo to find second hand.

Any one have any suggestions about WOWs, roellas or any other saddles? Especially dressage saddles which my be mroe suitable for those short in the leg!

My friend is about 5' 3 and rides a big moving 16.3 warmblood, she rides in a 16.5 Jaguar with shorter flaps. I know they are expensive but maybe you could be lucky and find something 2nd hand.

My daughter has VERY long legs and when she had a new jaguar saddle they supplied it with longer flaps. Surely the same must be available with shorter ones. Expensive though.

try the ideal roella, its designed for petite people

I've just bought a Silhouette VSD. It was custom made for me (i'm only 5ft) and my hard to fit connemara. I'm very very pleased with it. It has the flocking I wanted, the panels, a 17 inch seat and shorter cut flaps. Came in at 550 for all that in leather.

I'm 5ft4 with short legs, horse is 17hh. I have a Harry Dabbs Elegant dressage saddle and love it.

There are some pics of me riding in it a couple of weeks ago in my sig. Paid £500 for it when it was 18 months old. I like the fact that it was easy to have altered when horse changed shape (really muscled up after having hocks medicated and was finally able to move properly!) - saddler sent it back to Dabbs, they let the tree out and changed some flocking, saddler due back next week to refit.
