Hi
im looking for a really nice quality 2nd hand dressage saddle for my welsh D mare,

she's currently in a Med/Wide - 17'' but will be better with a wide as she is a 4 yr old and bulking out quickly with the work and growth etc

I was hoping to get hold of a Bates Innova etc or something with a changeable gullet, ideally a WOW would be amazing!

can anyone recommend one as I have cash waiting but cant seem to see anything decent....

thanks

I have an Ideal Jessica and love it. Previously used a Wintec Pro which was also good and the bonus of changeable gullets if horse changing shape. Genie changed shape ENORMOUSLY between 4 and 7.

I have a Wintec Isabell on my mare (specifically wanted brown so this was a good option for me) and it's the best thing I ever did. My D has massive shoulders and the cair allows her to move more freely whereas everything else has restricted her in the past despite me having had made to measure (she's very wide and has a xxwide from the wintec wide in her saddle which you aren't technically supposed to do but saddler was happy to try it and it has been perfect for the last four years). My original one was stolen in February but I have replaced it with an identical saddle. They are very comfortable and easy to maintain as well. :D
Have included a phot so that you can see what it looks like on. For reference my mare is 14.1hh.

I have a Wintec Isabel Werth too for my Sec D. Absolutely love it! He's in a wide gullet and also has wide shoulders. It came second hand with Flair fitted but I couldn't get away with it so had it converted back to flocking. They're really nice saddles and my position's been really helped by it too. In my opinion, the old design are actually nicer than the new ones so a bonus if you're looking for one second hand!

Thanks all!!

I did actually have a wintec Isabelle werth but sold it as found it too restrictive with the seat felt a bit forced into position at times, but I have to admit extremely comfy, currently have an Albion Legend 500 but its 17.5'' WH h is a bit to long on her back ;( so need to sell this one too.

Also need a nice brown 20'' dressage girth if anyone knows of one x

I'm an albion girl thru and thru - I've tried hundreds of other saddles and each time I buy one I think I'll try a wow or a amerigo or a Kent and masters and end up buying the albion - expensive yes but they sit straight on cobs and wb alike - never had a horse that anything else fixed better

I've got a ideal Jessica which I got second hand for £550, it a wide 17.5 and he's 15hh. I love my saddle and it's lovely to sit in!

I love my WOW on my cob and I got it second hand from British Dressage classifieds for £400 which I thought was a bargain.. Might be worth having a look on there ..

Ideal Jessica's are lovely on Welsh Cobs. They're flatter treed than some dressage saddles.

I have a brown one for sale if you're interested - it's Wide 17.5

It doesn't suit my PB Arab.

I would try a Solution which are really good on barrel shapes, and will always fit a cob which changes shape a lot through the seasons. Their website has demo ones on sale, which are worth considering.
