Dressage Saddles- What the!?

Is anyone else watching Susanne Lebeck and Potomac? The size of those knee rolls!? Looks like an aussie stock saddle! Are there any rules on knee rolls? Surely it means the ride isn't capible of keeping thier own thigh still? I know these warmbloods are very big moving but still.....

Having just bought some bigger kneerolls myself for a big moving warmblood, I still agree with you that some of the dressage saddles now are getting ridiculous! Seats so deep they need a hoist to get out of them, and kneerolls like elephant ears

Having just tried out several dressage saddles (for a wb with a huge stride and shoulders) I would agree that the saddles are getting ridiculous but it would seem to be the fashion at the moment. One of the saddles I tried had monster knee rolls and it was actually not very comfy to ride in!!

lol well it would be a real test for them! I do really wonder what some of them would be like sans saddles.

Personally I hate big knee rolls and don't like being restricted when I ride. Then again I love riding bareback!

Speaking as someone with a big moving DW, not only am I a fan of deep seats and big knee rolls, but I'm rather keen on a seat belt as standard

I have to admit to not yet riding her sans saddle... maybe when I'm a lot fitter and a lot more flexible lol
