I did my first ever dressage test on sunday (Prelim 1)

It was part of my first ever ODE (I like to do everything for the 1st time in one go!!

)

I got 47% but can't work out how they came to that score ??

I got 46 marks out of 90 for the movements .... then 25 out of 100 for the collective marks

My sheet shows 96 total marks out of 190 ... but that comes to 50% ...

It won't be out of 190 I wouldn't have thought? It is normally out of 200.

Usually one of the movements (freewalk on a long rein) is double scored so is out of 20 - have you checked that one incase you are missing it?

The collectives are double marked too so that would be a score of 50. + 46 which is where you are getting the 96 from.

But even if it is 96 out of 200 then you should have got 48%

Did you go wrong in the test at any point?

I would see if you can get someone to look at it for you (instructor or someone) who can explain it!

Its definately out of 190 ... there's a box at the bottom that says total with 190 in bold.

Doesn't matter - i just wondered if there was a weighting that they used or something???

No - didn't go wrong! I'm quite happy with the score for our 1st ever go. I was very nervous & pony was tense as a result, but he was a little star for me and I know what we have to work on for next time now

Ah - ok - maybe they have added it up wrong.

Just looked at one of mine I have here at work & that is out of 240 anyway, so obviously I am talking rubbish!

You should have got 50.5% then!

The main thing of course being that for a first time out, you are pleased with pone.

Thanks Britestar .. still confused tho as that gives me 49.5!

Ah well - i'll see if they publish the results on the website to see what I got.

Pleased that my actual dresage score is better than I thought too though!
