Im currently waiting for the vet to get back to me so we can decide what the next step is with Gin. She damaged her sacroiliac in June and shes still having problems in that area. Shes had 2 injections in that time but now were thinking there might be more damage in that area than we first thought.
I have discussed in detail with my vet the possibility of Gin having a foal if she has to have time off. Ive had the physio to see her this morning and whilst there she spoke to the vet who said she was going to ring me, physio got the impression that the vet was going to say time off.
So I have been looking at Stallions for Gin just incase.
Gin is 15.2hh, 13 this year, unregistered Dutch Warmblood, was competing elementary has the potential to go higher. She was imported from Holland but came with no papers. As far as im aware it will be her first foal so we would be using chilled AI. We dont want a natural covering due to the problems in her back.
I love her stamp but she doesnt have the best hind legs and doesnt always like to use them. Shes fantastic to handle on the ground but is spooky and a bit of a hot head when ridden.
I would like a stallion with a good temperament and a good hindleg to compensate for Gins weak areas.
I seem to have fallen for Benetton Dream, but I believe he is abroad and so I believe he is off the list. (This will be mine and her first foal so were learning as we go along.)
I really like Dimaggio but a post I read on here put me off and I would prefer a bay foal to a chestnut. I have just been looking at Millenium as he looks to have a nice stamp. I saw him years ago but cant remember what he was like. Another one was Catherston Springsteen but again hes chestnut, and Dubloon who is very local to me and who I have seen grow up but is also chesnut.
So im open to suggestions. The foal will be bred with me in mind but will need to be saleable as I will have 3 horses next year and one may have to go.
I dont have any confo shots of Gin unfortunatley.
