Friend has this movement to do, any dressage judges or general gurus able to clarify for us?? We're not sure exactly where and for how long the judge will expect the lengthened strides to be?

It's just some. I wouldn't say there is a fixed number. The most important thing is to show a difference. So however long you're doing lengthened strides for, you must show the opening up and the collecting, and certainly be back in working canter by the time you complete the circle at B.

If I were riding it I would aim for half a circle. My first lengthened stride would be the one after the stride which crossed the centre line. So I would aim to end roughly at the centre line on the second half of the circle, so that I have time to be in a decent working canter for B.
