Well daughter was first in today[ not a position she likes to be in]Warmed up entered arena ,judge hooted, gave signal for music to start and waited about 5 minutes for them to get sorted.[It was their first music comp. I think]Still he went in fine and although felt a bit flat and broke in med trot,he looked great.The arena rode a bit smaller than the one they have been practicing in ,so couldn't ride as forward as she likes but over all it looked lovely . The trot music is not right for him but that is being sorted. His score went up 72.2% so very pleased.
We watched the rest of the class and a couple were really nice and correct[ although if I hear 'in the mood 'or 'the entertainer 'once more I'll scream].There was one that was definately lame and two that were very tight and tense.
The result went up and we were only 4th .The very tense horse won, a nice one second and third was another tense one the lame one came 5th.We were shocked, at the last one we did ,the winner today came last with a score in the 50's. The winning rider was even more shocked than us!
We then saw the judge and she placed us 1st on our coloured once when he was tense,jogged, changed leg and shied, so that must be what she thinks is correct.
We were pleased with our test and when we get new trot music I think it will work better.
Judges are funny things and you have to accept it to compete.The rider was clever though he never once rode towards the judge.He entered saluted and went across diagonal, did serpentines all the way through trot and finished across the diagonal and turned just before final salute, clever ,it is difficult to see the horse was crooked.
