Well...
Sparky was up first, she was very backwards in the warmup; threatened to go up several times which she hasn't done in months and then kicked out at a horse warming up for the PSG I gave up on warming in the arena and just had a walk/trot aroudn the lorry park. I went down to the indoor (huge, spooky - mirrors and shadows!) fully expecting a horrible test and decided I'd be happy if she came out having completed every movement without rearing or napping. Much to my surprise she went, came into an outline and did a really nice test. Her only bit of resistance was picking up canter left (got a 5). Other than that the marks were all 6's (nothing if not consistent ) and she came out on a 59.5% for 8th! Not bad for a class of 20! The judge's comment on her was that she was moving nicely forward and just needed to be a little more round which was fair enough as I was concentrating on getting forward over an outline today!
Bob was on an hour later, he warmed up ok, though he was fighting the hand so I improvised a flash strap out of one of the breast plate attachments for him which gave a big improvement. He did a nice test, all the faults were J's mostly cutting corners and wobbles on the centre line but the got a few 7's including both canters and paces. They came out with 60.5% for second in thier class
Not a bad day, all in all!
