Just got back from dressage on my boy. Had a good morning though our mark was not very good.
Have not been driving horse trailer for that long so this was my first time to a show on my own with no one to help

. He loaded great first time (unusual for him) and the drive up there was good.
I really enjoyed it. Just me and my ned.
Got there to find that warm up was on grass and my boy tends to get very excited as soon as his little tootsies touch the green stuff, but he was relatively calm and warmed up nicley. He did what I thought was a good test only prelim 4 but thats enough for me

. We got just under 60% and were only 1/4 of a mark away from getting placed, he felt really good and has been getting well into the 60's recently so was a bit disapointed however all the marking was low and the top 6 were all within 3 marks of each other, but I enjoyed it (even the torrential rain cloud that followed me, and only me, round my test!!!

) He loaded well again on the way home and he's now in the field munching grass. I'm now just about to enter my next one seem to have got the bug!!!! Here are some piccies sorry no action ones thats the only downfall with not having a groom!!!

Well done HP. I rarely go anywhere on my own, I always drag hubby with me. I need to have a caller tho for dressage. At least now you have been on your own and successfully, you know that you can go anywhere without having to rely on anyone so you don`t have to miss out. I also like to take someone as they are in charge of the video`ing, something that I can`t do while on my own.

Before I met my hubby, I went to comps for years on my own. Didn't worry me in the slightest. Now I am such a woose and normally chicken out if he can't go.
Sounds like you had a good day - the photo of him in his posh rug is v nice. See what you mean about the last one though - odd angle.

aww he looks really cute!

Enjoying the tests is everything, as many riders don't ever enjoy it enough! Progress is nearly always quite slow, just keep training, competing, keep him in the best possible condition and keep us informed!
