Dressage today - so pleased with my boy

First time out since the end of september, went to a dressage comp at Plumpton college, did P14 and N32.
Axey took a long time to settle and I didn't really give him very much time to warm up so he was a bit tense in P14 and we scored 54% but he did buck about 5 times

N32 I rode him in for a good 1/2hr and he was a different horse

He was soft, relaxed and listening and I was over the moon to come 1st with 64.3%

So that was our 2nd ever novice and I'm so pleased.
My instructor thinks we are ready to do some elementary's so I'm going to be brave and do one next time.
 
Sounds like Prelim may be a bit boring for Axel now, so he thought he would liven it up with a few buck-a-roos!

Thank you, I'm a bit miffed as Golden Cross always used to do trailblazers elementary and I fancied having a crack at qualifying for the 2nd round but they don't do it anymore

Looks like I might have to affiliate as they do a BD comp there every month up to elementary

Why not, sounds like you are definitely ready for it if you are winning Novices. Go for it.

Ah thank you, since I've been having lessons with Mandy Lawrence he's like a different horse.
I once said he would be doing mediums when he was 6 as a joke but the way he's going he will be! He's 6 this year and I am so pleased with him.

I think Halfpass took some photo's.

I have never had lessons with Mandy but she has scored a few tests I have done and she has always been very fair and accurate.

At this rate there is no doubt you will be doing Medium by the end of the year! Another Big Well Done!
 
Golden cross have trailblazers elem on 23 april,which i believe is the last lot of first rounds before there second rounds,you could try and qualify there .
 
You did fab today hon and Axey looked great. You should be really proud.
I will put the piccies on tomorrow they aren't brilliant as they are really dark.
