It was the championship show at Oakwood Park, anyone who came 1st 2nd or 3rd this year there qualified. I came 1st in Prelim 7 with Axey in July so decided to go back for the champs today.
Was a bit worried as I dropped almost a whole tub of Cool Calm and Collected on the floor this week and had no other calmers to give him, but thought it was worth a try just to see how he would cope without being 'drugged'!!
He warmed up really nicely, and I went in. Some bits of my test were fab, and some bits were horrid. He suddenly became very 'gobby' and threw his head up a few times, he also spooked and broke canter
(he never does that)
I was slightly disappointed when I came out, but his overal quality of work was a lot better than usual.
Anyway........we came 3rd with 66%
the bits he went nicely he got 8's for and a few 7's too. The spooky bits he got 6's for.
Unfortunately, while tied up to the lorry, he got scared by a gazebo blowing down next to him and pulled back, breaking his lovely leather headcollar and running off! His greed got the better of him though and he soon stopped to eat the grass and let me capture him! Halfpass went and bought him another headcollar to come home in and came back with a very fetching lilac one
Halfpass took a few piccies, so hopefully can put them on here later
