Dressage Yard in Cambs?

Hi all,

I'm desperately seeking a reputable yard in Cambridgeshire with a predominately dressage focus so that I can have a few schoolmaster lessons to get a feel for some more advanced movements. I currently ride regularly at a local riding school but feel I'd benefit from something a bit more advanced to integrate into my learning.

I checked a place out just outside Huntingdon yesterday and whilst the horses did look beautiful I wasn't struck by the yard and it hasn't sat comfortably with me (for example not having exclusive use of the fairly small school when having a pricey private lesson due to liveries riding at the same time).

Does anyone know of such a place? Would love to hear any recommendations.

I'm looking for a similar thing after a break from riding and losing all my confidence. I don't want to go to any old riding school and ride a plod or be put on something unsuitable because I can ride. I want somewhere who will accept that I can ride fairly well but also understand that confidence building is the thing. I have been searching and have found this one

There is a place in Yelling that is supposed to be good - I think it's called Hill Top. It's been recommended to me on here, and Cambridge University Riding Club uses it for its advanced flat lessons. Unfortunately I can't get there easily or I'd be trying it out myself

Meaowbrook stables as mentioned in an earlier post is definatly what you are looking for. All horses are schoolmasters and can easily do all lateral movements, direct transitions. No kicking or pulling. The lightest of aids from walk to canter. Using your seat to steer and control horse. Give sam a call and get a lesson booked.

Thinking slightly outside the box it may be worth looking for dressage trainers in Cambs who offer school master lessons. Look on the BD website for registered trainers in the area and then narrow it down to those who offer this. www.britishdressage.co.uk
