Just wondered if anyone had any preference when it came to dried grass products? Readigrass, Just Grass etc. I'm considering getting some for my older mare to supplement her haylage in the stable as our grazing isn't terribly good at the moment. Nothing to give her any more energy/calories, just something else to munch on overnight. Also how much are the various products?

Thanks very much.

According to Miss Farra, SS Just Grass is very tasty - smells lovely too. If she keeps stuffing herself like she is, she will soon be on Ruff Stuff to keep her figure slim.

Ruff Stuff is better for good doers as long as they have good teeth.

She's currently getting approx 1kg of Alfabeet per day in two feeds with TopSpec Balancer. Over the weekend she's just had a few scoops of HiFi original with her haylage overnight. Would Readigrass work out cheaper? Just trying to work out what's best for her.

My younger one is so simple - balancer and Hi-Fi overnight. Mind you he's so laid back he's horizontal so I may have to get something to wake him up when he starts doing more work.

Always fed Redigrass, only because its the one I can get hold off easily, sometimes you get a nice soft batch, other times its a bit spikey though.

Am interested to know - do these dried grass products have lots of calories?

My oldie is watching his weight (!!) but I had thought about giving him a bit every now and again, just for a change ......

Mine have Pure Grass or Graze On. I use both as a hay top up and a chaff as I dont use straw based mollassed chaffs.

Readigrass for me to i love the smell and my horsey goes mad for it.

I think its 10mj but as its a lighter by weight you can feed lots of it where as if you feed dengie or similar its heavier so you would feed less.
