Just looked at the ingredients on the crunch it’s bag I got and one of them is dried oak leaves! I thought they were poisonous?! Any thoughts

I include oak leaves in the things I forage for the boys, when I do, and we have a lot of oak seedlings in the fields every year that the boys will trim until they (the seedlings) give up so it wouldn't bother me. A small amount is fine and even beneficial. A bucketful of acorns would be a different matter but not at issue here.

Here is what they said, we are aware that oak leaves is listed on our labelling in the Very Berry Crunchits. It does not form part of our actual ingredients, but it does need to be listed as there is a minute trace amount in the natural preservative that is used. This has been looked at by our nutritionist and they have confirmed that the minute trace amount used in the preservative is not harmful to horses at all, but does have phenolic benefits.
