Anyone know what the legal limit is??

Where we used to live there used to be a couple of old guys that would ride to the pub and then the horses would just take them back home at the end of the night. Highly illegal, as is riding a bike when drunk and I'm pretty sure the limits are the same as driving.

I am a carriage driver. I seem to remember that there is some ancient legislation which states that it is illegal to be in charge of a horse on the highway whilst under the influence of alcohol. Of course this was before the car was invented and there was no such thing as a blood or breath test.

i think it is just so funny, we used to ride to the pub and have a few then let the horses take us home, but was very rural, knowing hemel hempstead town centre it must of been the funniest sight ever, luckily enough nearly all of that area is pedestrianised (sp) but after that it is surround by very busy main road, so in all seriousness it could of turned into a very horrible accident

It is illegal to ride or drive a horse while drunk, I guess the limits will be the same as for drink - car driving.

Hubby got a warning for it once, hacking home from a show via a pub!!

Did he get points on his driving licence? I have heard of people getting points for offences committed on foot or on bike, which is rather unfair!

i must admit i laughed, when i read this. i'm from hemel orignially, just living away for uni! knowing hemel like i do, i had visions of a horse being ridden round the magic roundabout, down into town!
