Who can tell am getting ready for winter :D

So after shelving the idea last winter as I was concerned two ponies would itch on them I've decided to get some as both ponies have had drinkers in stables over summer at boot camp which they behaved with :)

Ive got some lovely corner drinkers on way be (made by JFC part no DBL3 if anyone's interested,) as plumber thinks they will be more secure bit have no idea what height to put them 😳

Is there a rule like 'they should be at chest/nose/ear height' or something?! They are wooden stables with full height boarding to attach to. Nev the super shetland is of course having hers fitted at little pony height (she's not spoilt honest) and rest of ponies between 14/15hh if that helps?!

Sorry for stupid question 😝

Kitten cuddles and tortoise pats for all

If you put them high enough for their bum, they won't be able to drink out of it. They have to be able to get their head down enough to drink, so just chest height should be ok.

Seriously though, I have mine at about my hip height; horses are from 14.2 - 15.2. Even the 12.3 mule manages to drink from them 'though, in preference to the handy bucket I have provided for his express convenience.

I have one supremely talented mare who has occassionally deposited poop even at this height. She has a sense of humour :-)

Cool I'll think maybe I'll put them at the biggest horses chest height as I think the smaller ponies will be ok with reaching a tiny bit but if I end up with bigger residents they won't be poop height.

Obviously Nevilles will be poopy/hoof washing for every other horse 😂
