I noticed that my mare has been drinking a lot more water the last few weeks but I had put this down to the dry hay. She lives out 24/7 and has a mix of hay and haylage in the field. She comes in everyday and has hay before I ride. She has never touched the water I leave for her in the stable up until the last few weeks. This last week I have soaked the hay she has when she comes in to see if this makes a difference. She was drinking less water so thought I'd cracked it but the last two days she's back to drinking lots again. She is drinking in the field I have seen her. For the last week she's also looked very tucked up. Yesterday her backend looked like a rescue case so the vet is coming next week, but I'm just really anxious to know whats wrong. She's fine within herself, as lively as ever. Also she's become really twitchy when she gets too warm. Any ideas or has anyone's horse had similar symptoms. I want to know whats wrong with my horse!
