I am on the lookout for a nice little section a to show in hand (taking a break front riding now my old boy is being retired and fancy something different!). Ive been thinking of ways to exercise the pony at home, short of finding a little jockey, as i am far too big, i was wondering about driving?? I have never driven before but willing to learn something new. I was wondering.....up to what weight can a sec a pull?

Our section A pulled two adults of about 10st plus a 2 wheeler round all the events last season, up some huge hills and over distances of 14k plus. He's 26 this year.
It's all about fitness and fit. Fitness of the pony for the job you're asking him to do, and fit of the harness and carriage and the balance of that carriage.
If you do decide to go ahead, find someone reputable to break him and give you enough pointers to set you on the right track, there are a lot of people who break to drive but not all of them actually do things in a correct and safe way....
It's great fun, give it a go!
