Does anybody know if you can drive a small horsebox on a normal car license? Its a small transit van that only carries 2 ponies, I think its only 3.5t.
You can drive that on a normal licence. Depending on when you took your driving test (I took mine 12 years ago) you can actually drive up to a 7.5tonne on a normal car licence. If you have only just recently passed a driving test though then you would need an LGV licence to drive anything larger than 3.5T.
Just be careful and find out the paye load. Some have a paye load of only 1 ton. By the time you add a tank of deisel, people and equipment you may not be able to carry 2 horses legally.
Ones with a larger payload than 1ton would still be struggling!! Mine has a opayload of 1.3 ton, and weighs 3.15ton with my 16.2 tack, diesel, water and me! So only space for a very small pony!!
Yes you can - as above though, I doubt there will be enough payload before you are up to your 3.5 weight limit. I'd advise you go to a public weighbridge and get it weighed.
