Well I went. Loved the whole thing. They are very hands on and have you tacking up and driving out straight away. I was amazed. Thought we would go in the school to begin with at least. I am a very nervous hacker out but very quickly settled with the driving! One of the ponies that I drove is one that pulls father christmas at the HOYS.Very proffesional yard. The Talland of the driving world. They say that the reason that ALL the ponies/horses are light and responsive to drive (even the ones used for absolute beginners like me) is because they teach correctly from the beggining and they are always driven properly. Took me out in the coach with 2 big greys (no I didn't drive that) and saw an emergency stop in action!Very friendly. Don't mind if you are a complete novice or more experienced. They do want you to want to learn though! One lady upset them because she said she Just wanted to drive not have a lesson or learn anything!! Can you imagine going to Talland and saying Actually you just want to ride one of their horses not bother with instruction!!Can't wait to go back and HIGHLY recommend.

Yay it's where I learnt to ride, the driving horses are just as wonderful and light under saddle.

Did you meet John? If so did you understand a word he says.

Tis a lovely place though. I used to cycle there to help out on the weekends to. They were the days.

Edited to add it's the connemara's that pull santa's sleigh , great fun when you first put on their plumes each year, they used to be fine having theirs on but freak when they saw their mate in one.

Took my boys for a couple of lessons there to start with and they rode minstral and minuete who I remeber first arriving and being backed. They're old now bless them, pull they used to pull the mini fire engine to pretend to put out the flaming hoops that John had just driven the 4 greys through.

I knew you'd have a great time. I had a day with them and they were great - even with an oldie like me. Thought John P was lovely. Saw him driving the 4 greys and the Norwich Union Coach at Euston Bygones show last year.

Yes I am addicted to driving. Got to find out where I go from here. A few more lessons I think! Yes I met John. Thought he was lovely AND I could understand him!
