driving back to sport

I'm really excited because I have been selected for the BHDTA/Sport England initiative to introduce mature adults to carriage driving. We get 5 group sessions. I'm going to Benningtons near Newark though there are other venues.

we have been to their try driving days with matthew .......... brilliant !!!

Amanda and her team do the actual driving ( their pones are just soooo special) and Sue and her team host it and show people round the showroom and answer loads of questions.


The obstacle course is large and the countryside beautiful

Thanks Tazzle, I have had one driving lesson nearer home, but am ridiculously excited at the thought of being behind a cantering horse.

dont rule it out on a first drive with Amanda ..... but they usually have "just" the pones so it might not be quite as "hairy"

I dont have a working one atm

we had an exercise vehicle

then the vehicle I got to replace that when it broke needed the shafts altered then developed an irrepairable problem with the brakes, will cost more to sort than the vehicle worth as the shafts also need replacing

we are trying to get an adapted vehicle for a wheelchair so that couple friends can drive

How is the fund raising going?

we have raised over 1K out of five needed , been at it 7 months and gaining momentum as going to register for charitable status and we have made loads connections so we can have more fundraiser events this year. The funbug will belong to the committee, we will just be caretakers and providing the horsepower

Congratulations, it can't be easy raising money in the current economic climate. What is the next event?

thank you ..... we will be doing a quiz night then a fun ride... hope do a summer ball for non horsey as well as horsey folks ..... and an on line auction at some point

when will you be going to newark ?

The first session is on Feb 9th. I will have to rearrange my working week; usually I work Mon-Thurs, so I'll have to swap to get thursdays off. Shouldn't be a problem though. The other sessions are between then and March.
