Just musing about hiring a local indoor school this afternoon; although it is not within hacking distance which means a trailer trip. The main roads are absolutely fine, although our yard is a bit icy on top of compacted snow in places as is the yard with the indoor.

I don't really need to school, just thinking it might be a bit of a productive afternoon if I were to do so! Am I being a big wimp?!

Thoughts?

Mid diet so only savoury seeds and some sushi to offer, sorry!

No, not worth the risk to my most precious possession, imho! There is always another non-icy day to go out. You might be really careful, but another road user might not be so sensible . . .
Take care and do some extra grooming/trimming/groundwork/carrot stretches instead!

No I wouldn't. I was taking my daughter to a PC event in an indoor school. The main roads were OK, but I missed the turning and tried to turn round on a pub car park that hand't be gritted and it was icy. I ended up jack-knifing the LR and trailer and skidding downhill across the car park, it was VERY scarey. Luckily there was nothing parked in the way that I could have crashed into, and I managed, very gingerly to extricate myself. I don't think my daughter reaslied how close we were to disaster, but I have always treated icy roads with great caution since then.

Just wait a few days!

After walking out of my office and almost falling base over apex with a pile of files I think I've answered my own question!
I'm sure the horses won't delighted at another walk and trot lunge session but better that than a nasty accident; your incident sounds very scary Orangehorse!

I wouldn't but saw someone towing a trailer with 2 horses in through the ski resort I was in last week. I also saw horses playing polo on the snow though, so maybe thats not a good example

I went out on Sunday main roads clear side roads no snow but it was cold and the possibitly of ice was there . There was ice / snow on the yard at home and the drive I was driving a defender and I am used to driving in these conditions.
Last year I went hunting and we got caught in a blizzard we where miles from the trailer and it took ages to get back to it.
It was awful and I was going it ok to my friend we are fine now while my stomach sank We got home in one piece went slowly remembered all the stuff I was taught it was the other cars that bothered me and the lack of visibility, but I had no choice as we really where in the middle of nowhere I was glad that I had driven in less than ideal conditions in the past, by the next morning we had 9 inches of snow and the snow lasted for seven weeks.
It's a hard call up here I often take horses out in cold weather but am cautious when snow is forecast we where caught that time out as weather that severe was not forecast.
It's easy to be caught out you need to learn how to drive if you do.

No, I would not risk it. If the vehicle or trailer start to slide you would be powerless, all you could do would be watch in horror for the ensuing carnage to begin.
