driving choices

OH wants to drive again we still have his driving pony but he isn't the easiest so choices are
1) retrain the driving pony we have
2)break the dozy welsh A to drive she is very very sensible in traffic etc
3) buy a new experienced driving pony
It is a few years since he has driven but it looks like he won't be sound enough to run with the in hand ponies was planning on getting him some refresher lessons too.

Dozy welsh A sounds like she might enjoy it. I would go with 2.

I'm so new to the driving scene my opinion doesn't really count but I'd go with 2.

What about re-training the existing pony, alongside with breaking the A, if similar size ? for a pair

2 then as scruffy ponies says it gives you the option for a pair in future too

Great thanks everyone any suggestion as to a good but not too expensive harness brand skint at the minute but don't want oily leather stuff

A basic zilco harness would do.

I've got a synthetic zilco type, can't remember if it's that make or not, think it was a few hundred quid

What size are ponies one and two, does pony one have existing kit? In what way is he ‘not easy’, and what type of driving (pleasure/show/compete) does oh want to do?
